Problems related to the bones are not specific to any age group and has become a very common affair than now, than it was, compared to a few years ago. The pain due to the orthopedic conditions stop being just a physical problem after a point when they start to hamper the productivity of our daily lives.
Orthopaedic conditions is an umbrella term for a variety of conditions that affects your muscles, tendons, ligaments, bones, joints, cartilage, and capsule; not because of a disease but often due to unknown causes, degeneration, trauma, post-surgery and overuse. There are tens and hundreds of conditions that fall in this category.
We are among the few best physiotherapy centers in Chennai, that also provide specialized programs for shoulder pain rehabilitation or back pain rehabilitation. Pains related to orthopedic conditions can be reduced to a great extent through our physical therapy services.
Symptoms
These conditions can cause a number of symptoms such as
- Joint pain (shoulder, elbow, wrist, fingers, hip, knee, ankle and foot)
- Muscle pain or pain anywhere in the arms and legs
- Neck pain
- Low back pain
- Joint or muscle stiffness
- Poor muscle strength
- Muscle wasting
HOW JH REHABILITATION CAN HELP
Unlike other conditions we treat at our center, these conditions do not necessitate an interdisciplinary approach (i.e. care being provided by various disciplines in a coordinated fashion) by various healthcare specialists. It only requires you to be seen by the Physician (Physiatrist) and a Physiotherapist. Not all patients will require all services and usually, a combination of these services is required for an individual patient. You will be evaluated at the initial visit to determine what services you require and a tailored treatment plan will be initiated.
PHYSICIAN (PHYSIATRIST)
First, patients will be evaluated by the Physician to diagnose the condition and come up with a treatment plan. The treatment plan will involve physical exercises and modalities, which will be executed by the Physiotherapist. The physician performs various injections such as trigger point injections, tendon injections, and joint injections to alleviate the pain and also prescribe medications for pain if necessary.
Physiatry plays a vital role in helping patients achieve their maximum recovery potential physically, functionally, and socially.
PHYSIOTHERAPIST
The Physiotherapist trains patients on various exercises to reduce pain, muscle or joint stiffness, and increase muscle strength and balance. Passive modalities such as ultrasound, transcutaneous electrical stimulation, neuromuscular electrical stimulation, and cryotherapy for purposes such as pain relief, relief of muscle or tendon stiffness, fracture healing and prevention or treatment of muscle wasting are employed. The physiotherapist also focuses on preventative strategies to prevent similar things from happening in the future. Walking and retraining of daily living activities are also focussed on depending on the condition.
Expectations of Recovery
These are conditions in which full recovery is often possible.

We reached out to JH Rehabilitation Centre for at-home physiotherapy for my father after a stroke. They assigned Ms. Sathya, who has been doing a wonderful job. Within just a few weeks of therapy, my father—who was almost bedridden—has started walking slowly with the help of a walker. Ms. Sathya is now planning ADL training to help him perform basic tasks independently. The results so far have been very encouraging, and we’re hopeful to see even more progress with her expert care. Highly recommend JH Rehabilitation Centre and Ms. Sathya for their dedicated and professional service.Posted on Balasubramanian KTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google.
